This Is Not Your Ordinary Father-Son Piggyback Ride. It’s Much, Much More

Fathers give their children piggyback rides all of the time, but it’s never anything like this. A Chinese man named Yu Xukang gives his son a ride every morning so that he can go to school. His son, Xiao Qiang, is disabled. His back is hunched and his limbs are twisted, so riding in a special basket that his dad carries on his back is the only way he can get to school.

So, his dad carries him. For 18 miles.

The 40 year-old father and his 12 year-old son are from the Fengyi township in Yibin county in southwest China’s Sichuan province, a rural part of China.

You Wouldn’t Even Notice This Walking By. But Take a Closer Look And… WHOA

In the middle of the bustling city of Warsaw, Poland, there is a hidden secret. It stands in between two buildings, hiding in plain sight. Did you catch it?

The awesome art installation is a home built by Polish architect Jakub Szczesny. He was inspired to create something in an alleyway in between two old buildings. He transformed the space in between the buildings into something awesome and unexpected. He and a group of designers called Centrala built the world’s narrowest house in that alley.

I wish I could live in that little house, no matter how stir crazy I would get.

Most passers by might miss the narrow house, even though it’s becoming a bit of a tourist spot.

This View Is Beautiful. But That’s Nothing Compared To What’s On The Beach

If you ever get a chance to travel to Cape Town, South Africa, make sure to stop and see the nearby Boulders Beach. Boulders is a popular local beach that is full of beautiful white sand, clear blue waters and, of course, penguins.

That’s right. I said penguins.

Boulders Beach is a popular tourist spot near Cape Town, South Africa. But not because of the beautiful sandy beach.

I Can’t Decide Whether To Laugh Hysterically Or Give This Girl An Award

Art comes in many different forms. Some people use oil paints, others sculpt with clay. This awesome photographer, though, decided to use a medium I’ve never seen before: stuff being thrown at her own face.

Kaija Straumanis is a photographer that originally hails from Latvia. One thing you may notice about her is that 1.) she is incredibly talented and 2.) she has a strange sense of humor you’ll fall in love with. One of the series of photos she posted to her Flickr account is called “head shots.”

It’s quite literal, but absolutely hilarious.

She apparently couldn’t dodge a wrench, either.

I Was Using Google Earth When I Noticed Something Awesome

Google Earth allows us to explore the world around us in a way that used to be impossible. With the help of satellite imagery and aerial photographs taken by aircraft, Google created a gigantic and interactive map for us to play with. Exploring cities you’ve never visited is fun, but you can also use it to explore where you currently live (“Bob has a swimming pool?”)

The most entertaining part of all? Finding hidden secrets, all over the world.

When You See This Little Boy’s Room, You’ll Be Very Jealous

Growing up can be stressful. Instead of play dates, you have blind dates. Instead of recess, you get a receding hairline. But, just because you’re not a kid anymore doesn’t mean you can’t have a play like one. Steve Kuhl, a brilliant designer and CEO of Kuhl Design+Build, can create you a bedroom that’ll tickle your inner child’s dreams. (Even if you build it for your actual child.)

One of the best parts of being a parent is finding reasons to play like a kid again. If you had this bedroom, you’d be doing lots of playing pirates with your little one.

The pirate ship bedroom looks like it’s a room at a Disney world resort, but it was built custom for a client of Kuhl.

What This Guy Does With Eggs Is Pretty Much Unbelievable

When Chinese artist Wen Fuliang was laid off his job as a wood carver he used his carving skills to a very different end. He started transforming chicken, goose, and duck eggshells into incredible works of art that he could sell. Incredible in both beauty and how fragile they are.

Check out these photos of his unique art below:

Wen Fuliang has been practising the very delicate art of eggshell carving for over twelve years now.

Seeing What This Stray Dog Did Will Hit You Hard

Seeing the conditions that some stray dogs have the live in can break your heart, especially if you’re an animal lover. When I saw what this two-legged stray had to do on the streets in China, it brought tears to my eyes. The stray was named Si Bao by a owner who later abandoned her. Then, after being left by her owner to fend for herself on the streets, she faced tragedy.

Si Bao, after becoming a stray, was hit by a speeding train. Her injuries were so severe, she lost her two back legs.

Life Is Too Short To Do What You Hate

Life is short. This is a wide and well-known fact. So why do so many people waste their time doing things that don’t make them happy? Usually it’s because we just don’t have the time or freedom to change our lives. As individuals, we have responsibilities that keep us tied to jobs we may not like. If there are family members involved, then we would have to think of their well-being, too, before switching careers.

No matter what responsibilities you may currently have, if you’re looking to change your life, these brilliant advertisements may convince you to do it.

The First Picture Shocked Me

Agee is unlike any other polar bear you’d ever see in captivity or in the wild. Her best friend is her human animal trainer, Mark Abbot Dumas. He took her in and began hand-raising her when she was only a tiny cub. Now, he can wrestle, play and train her while completely trusting her.

Not everyone can take a long nap with a polar bear after a long day of work.

Mark Abbot Dumas is the only person you’ll see in a position like this.

You Would Think All These People Are Falling To Their Death…

Ahh! Someone catch that baby! Wait a second…

You might have to look at this picture for quite a while before you realize just what’s going on. These families aren’t jumping and swinging off of a building in London, it’s just a clever illusion by Leandro Erlich. He had me fooled.

The Argentine artist is internationally known for his captivating, three-dimensional visual illusions.

It’s hard to believe what you will be seeing is something as simple as a painted hand

There are many different mediums artists can use to express themselves. Guido Daniele, for instance, chooses to use something that most of us have ourselves. Instead of buying canvas or paper, he paints hands. A gallery that includes some of his work was posted online, stunning users. It’s hard to believe what you will be seeing is something as simple as a painted hand:

Imagine Walking Through A Garden And Seeing THIS… It Would Leave You Speechless

This magical garden is right out of a fairytale. Nestled among the luscious rain forest in Marysville, Australia lives a collection of sculpted characters and creatures, all hand crafted by sculptor and painter Bruno Torfs out of either the trees in the forest themselves or from clay which he fires onsite in his kiln.

Bruno has been creating this magical world, rich with fantasy and insightful beauty, for some time now. But unfortunately in early 2009 a bushfire raged through the area, decimating everything in its path. Bruno’s home and 40 sculptures were completely destroyed in the fires along with a lot of the plantlife, but he chose to stay and rebuild his home and restore the sculptures in the garden, which now stand at over 100.

Here below are some of his incredible sculptures.

If You Think This Is Your Average Beach Resort, Look Closer. Because This Is Pretty Insane

Looks can be deceiving, even for something as big and as seemingly obvious as a beach. What you see below is NOT a well manicured tourist beach in Japan. It’s something much different.

If you like going to the beach, but don’t fancy going into the water (because that’s where the sharks live), then there is a resort in Japan that is just for you. This is the SeaGaia Ocean Dome, the world’s largest indoor water park. Basically, it is an enormous man-made beach.

The Ocean Dome holds a Guinness World Record for being the largest indoor water park.

I’ve Seen In A Long Time, so beautiful

There are so many intricately beautiful things in nature that we perhaps take for granted on a day-to-day basis. Honeybees, for instance, are beautiful little artists that most don’t pay attention to. Even as their populations began to dwindle, many people didn’t care beyond reading headlines. Not Aganetha Dyck, though. She is a Canadian artist who is interested in environmental issues and found a way to brilliantly incorporate honeybees into her work.

Aganetha literally collaborates with honeybees to make these delicate and visually stunning pieces of artwork.

There’s Nothing Like Getting Whisked Away By A Waterfall While You Enjoy Your Dinner

This one of a kind restaurant located in the Villa Escudero resort in San Pablo City, Philippines, offers customers the incredible experience of dining on delicious local Filipino dishes while a breathtaking sparkling waterfall flows in the  backdrop.

You might not think a restaurant with a waterfall backdrop is very unique, but what makes this restaurant stand out is that the clear spring water flowing down the side of the restaurant carries on over the floor, running under and over the diner’s feet while they eat. Essentially being a restaurant in the middle of a stream.
Villa Escudero is a hacienda-style resort in the Phillipines, with cozy rooms and an exotic atmosphere. But what brought it international recognition is this waterfall restaurant that allows tourists to enjoy a local meal right at the foot of a small waterfall.

This Looks Like A Charming Little Cabin

If you think that what you see below is just an adorable log cabin, you’d be dead wrong. Sure, it looks like a quaint cabin (in almost every way) but thanks to some sneaky architecture that’s just a disguise. Kelly Davis, the architect who created this faux-cabin, is a visual trickster (and quite possibly a magician).
It may look like a cabin, but this is actually an RV (no joke).

I Have No Idea How This Isn’t Photoshop. This Is Nearly Impossible To Believe

Dutch artist Ramon Bruin has an incredible talent in making his art really come to life. His hyper-realistic drawings are all done in such a way as to give off an optical illusion when arranged and photographed in the correct way. Making it appear as if the art itself is floating on or standing out of the paper.

Take a look at some of his 3D creations below:
The whole thing looks like a painting.

Definitely Insane. I Just Can’t Believe These Guys Really Do This

Meet Kirill Oreshkin, he’s one of the many Russian thrill seekers that have taken up the seemingly insane stunt of climbing high buildings, radio masts and bridges all over Russia.

These crazy young daredevils clamber up as much as 1,000 feet up the sides of buildings all in the name of excitement, and all without a safety harness.
Hundreds of young Russians have started taking part in this dangerous craze that is sweeping across Russian cities.

What is the stump like in the eyes of Art Masters?

It all started with a big tree stump. This tree was being cut down due to a beetle infestation, but the owners of the property didn’t want to waste it. So, this professional woodcarver used a chainsaw, grinder and chisels to transform that dead stump into something absolutely beautiful. Gil Watson is truly a master of his craft.

The carving had very simple beginnings. This is the tree stump that Gil used, it was a Red Bay Tree that was being cut down due to an ambrosia beetle infestation.

What happened? The rabbit is how?

There’s a tiny island in Japan that is so full of cuteness, if I saw it in person I wouldn’t be able to handle it. It’s known as Rabbit Island, and that is because it’s literally full of nothing but rabbits. (Surprise!) Rabbit Island, a.k.a., Okunoshima, was used as the secret base for the Japanese Imperial Army’s lethal gas operation during World War Two. You wouldn’t even guess it now, though, because the only reason people know this island is for the bunnies.

Over 6,000 tons of poison gas were manufactured on this island during the war, but that dark history has been erased by the bunnies.

These 19 Genius Pieces Of Furniture Will Make Everyone Visit You. I Must Have #13 Immediately

Making your house feel like a home can be as simple as hanging some paintings, adding a small garden… or buying some really awesome furnishings. (The latter, of course, is a lot more fun.) You won’t be able to find many of these items at your local IKEA. However, if there’s a will to make a house as awesome as possible, there’s a way.

There has to be a way to get your hands on some of these cool products.

My Heart Exploded When I Saw What Happened To This Baby Elephant

This adorable baby elephant pictured below landed itself in a right old mess after falling down a muddy ditch. The ditch was an old railway embankment and luckily, a train passed by and kind-hearted train passengers convinced the driver to stop so they could give the trapped elephant some food and rescue the poor calf from its predicament.
A herd of wild elephants were crossing railway tracks in Goalpara, in North-East India, when one elephant calf slipped and fell into a ditch.

These Two Guys Would’ve Been In Serious Trouble If They Got Caught. But It Was Totally Worth It

For me, heights are a problem. I’m not alone, though. Acrophobia, the fear of heights, is the third most common phobia. Vadhim Mahora and Ritaliy Raskalov, though, are two men that don’t have that problem. In fact, they love heights.

So much so, they broke a handful of laws just to climb to the top of the tallest skyscraper they could find.
Vadim and Ritaliy were traveling through China with one terrifying goal in mind…

You Would Have To Be Insane To Dive At This Spot. You’ll See Why When You Hit The Water.

If you came across this gaping hole in a Texas river, would your first instinct be to jump on in? Probably not. However, that’s what locals LOVE to do at Jacob’s Well. Jacob’s Well is a natural “karstic spring” in the Texas Hill Country. It’s located northwest of Wimberley, Texas, and families from all around come to see it. And jump in it.
The circular well drops down about 30 feet, which allows for plenty of diving space.

‘Hey, What’s That Kid Doing To His Closet Door?’ after day 90: ‘Wow!’

A Reddit user decided to paint his bedroom closet doors, probably to liven up the place to impress the ladies. But his goal wasn’t easy. He was going to recreate The Great Wave off Kanagawa, a famous Japanese wood block print (and quite possibly one of the most famous pieces of Japanese art in the world). No wonder it took him three whole months.
Cleaning the two huge, dark brown closet doors off before starting to paint.

At First, It Looks Like Someone Really Needs To Rake Their Yard. Then… Whoa! Holy COW!

By just glancing at these pictures, you’d think that you were looking at some kind of leaf-covered backyard. It’s not that uncommon to look at out a lawn and see a scattering of dark-orange leaves leftover from the last fall. Or maybe there’s some kind of strange foliage covering the ground? The truth of it, though, is something you’d probably never guess. It’s way cooler than just a bunch of leaves.

Check it out.

It’s hard to tell what exactly is covering the ground here…

Even If You Don’t Like Diamonds And Gemstones, These Will Leave You Speechless

When you think of beautiful gems, your mind may automatically drift to a diamond, ruby or emerald. One gemstone, however, that doesn’t nearly get the attention it deserves is the opal. An opal is one of the most beautiful of gemstones, found in limonite, sandstone, rhyolite, marl and basalt. These stones can be almost any color, and opals of different colors can flash different colors in different lights. They’re truly amazing. You can find precious opals that are clear through white, gray, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, magenta, rose, pink, slate, olive, brown, and black.

This is an Ethiopian Welo Opal.

This Went From Horrifying To Downright Unbelievable Very Quickly

All of the amazing (and slightly terrifying) artwork you’re about to see was created by one man. His name is Sam Jinks and he is an Australian visual artist. He focuses on creating hyper-realistic sculptures out of silicone, resin and fiberglass. There’s something about these pieces that are almost too realistic, to the point where they seem like they shouldn’t exist at all.

No matter how you feel about his artwork, one thing is certain: you should feel something.

Although most of his pieces are seemingly very normal…

This is art

Trust me when I say this – all is not as it seems with the paint covered faces below. You might not think it when looking at the first four pictures, but what you’re looking at is actually one of the most incredible things I’ve seen in a long time. Mind-blowing art in fact.

You’re probably wondering what is so impressive about someone covering his face in paint.
